PROVINCIAL YOUTH & SPORT PROGRAMS

The Ministry of Youth & Sports Development was formally established as a full-fledged Government Ministry in 2003 and has since been actively involved in all six provinces of Vanuatu: Torba, Sanma, Penama, Malama, Shefa and Tafea.

Initially, the structure of the Ministry included a single Provincial Yourth and Sports Development Officer in each province, who was responsible for both youth and sports development programs.

In 2019, the Ministry underwent a significanrt restructuring, implemented in 2021, which separated the youth and sports programs. This restructuring allowed for the appointment of two dedicated officers per province; one for youth development and one for sports development.

Currently, we have Provincial Youth Development Officers in all Provinces: Torba, Sanma, Penama, Malampa, Shefa, and Tafea. However, the positions for Provincial Sports Development Officers remain vacant in Torba and Malampa, while Sanma, Penama, Shefa and Tafea have appointed officers.

We encourage you to explore each province's subpages on this website to learn more about their specific activities and initiatives.
