Our Mission

Providing leadership through the development of strategic opportunities with youth, sports and training issues.

Our Vision

Young people who are fully empowered to play a positive roll in contributing to the socioeconomic development of Vanuatu.

There are three major events that are happening this year that will involve the MOYSD as the key player, they are; the Inter-Secondary School Games, Area Games, the International Youth Week, and the National Games.

The Area Games is a new initiative that is expected to be implemented this year on three pilot areas, this strategy will focus on capturing potential young athletes who are not in the formal education section and have the best of them compete against the champions of the Inter-Secondary School Games.

These strategy will hopefully give provincial sports authorities the capacity to deploy well-represented provincial teams to compete in the National Games. In order for this to happen Provincial Youth and Sports Officers will need to consult with their respective provincial youth presidents and area councils to support the development of the Area Games

Other major events include competitions being hosted at the Korman Stadium by sports federations, competitions like the Melanesian Athletics Championship which is being coordinated locally by the Athletics Federation and will take place later this year alongside the Melanesian Youth Economic, Sports and Cultural Festival.
