After being suspended for several years, the Olafou program recommenced in Santo in October 2024, with the first block training session for Olafou youth beginning that same month. The program specifically targets youth in Sanma, from both urban and rural areas, who are passionate about driving change in their communities. Participants are currently registered for the Block 1 course. At the end of Block 1, each participant will be awarded a certificate of participation. Three blocks are still scheduled to be completed this year, with a new block starting every three months. At the end of each block, participants will receive a take-home assignment. Upon completion of Block 4, all participants will be awarded a certificate in Youth and Community Development. The next intake will begin after the current cohort has completed Block 4. As the new year unfolds, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports (MoYDS) looks back on a successful launch of two pivotal documents that will shape the future of youth and sports engagement and development in Vanuatu. The Coprorate Plan 2024 - 2028 and the Youth Sectoral Strategic Plan 2023 - 2033. The event, which took place on March 15th of last year 2024, marked a significan milestone in thinistry's efforts to foster an inclusive and thriving environment for the young population of Vanuatu.
